What Is HydraFacial And Can It Provide Instant Results?
The first flush of Spring is when a lot of people start to think about holidays and brighter days ahead and start to make moves towards having skin that matches the brightness of the season.
This means giving the face a good pampering and one of the hottest new trends for that is the HydraFacial, a treatment that claims to be relaxing and yet provides dramatic results.
Whilst it has a rather unusual name and uses specialist equipment, HydraFacial is a combination of treatments that are rather more familiar and well-known, albeit not necessarily done like this.
It is most similar to microdermabrasion, a form of in-clinic exfoliation that runs fine crystals and a vacuum over the skin in a process that removes dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin and promotes rejuvenation.
HydraFacial kind of works like this with an exfoliating tip and suction used in the same way, but it combines this process with two other steps to provide a dramatic result.
The first step apparently uses a “fluid vortex” to gently resurface the skin, avoiding the risk of irritation that can come with more robust exfoliation.
However, this is also combined with an extraction and hydration step, where the exfoliation tip extracts sebum and dirt out of the pores, replacing them with a dose of topical moisturiser.
This also avoids the dry sensation that can sometimes come from exfoliation and sealing moisture in the skin.
Finally, there is the infuse and protect step, where a tailored suite of serums known as “boosters” are applied to the skin and these active ingredients help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, brighten the skin or reduce the effect of conditions such as hyperpigmentation.
All of this is done in just half an hour and there is no downtime if you do need to go to an urgent appointment afterwards.
